How long will we keep your personal data?

WeFitter only processes personal data when there is a legal basis that allows us to process this data. We ensure within this context that personal data is only processed for the specific goal for which it is collected.

WeFitter will not process more personal data than necessary. If possible, we process less or no personal data.

WeFitter ensures that the breach of your privacy is not too extensive for the goal that is served by the collection of the personal data. We choose to process personal data that breaches your privacy the least when there is a choice between several personal data items to achieve a goal. WeFitter will keep your personal data as long as your account exists and as long as it is needed for the goal for which the data was collected or is required based on the Dutch Public Records Act. We do not keep personal data longer than required.

Special and/or sensitive personal data that we process

Our website and/or service does not have the intention of collecting data about website visitors who are younger than 16 years old unless they have the consent of their parents or guardian. We cannot, however, check whether a visitor is older than 16. We therefore recommend that parents be involved in the online activities of their children to ensure that personal data about children is not collected without parental consent.

If you are convinced that we have collected personal data about a minor without this consent, contact us through api-support@wefitter.com. We will then erase this information.

Data security

We take suitable security measures to restrict abuse of and unauthorised access to your personal data. We adhere to an Information Security Policy for this purpose. This ensures that only required persons have access to personal data and that access to personal data is screened off. The WeFitter software application is currently not being actively maintained and the system only consists of a demo for existing and new customers. Data security therefore does not (any more) comply with the highest standard.

Sharing personal data with third parties

WeFitter will not sell your personal data to third parties and will only share it if this is required for the correct operation of WeFitter or to comply with a legal obligation.

We enter into a data processing agreement with every party with whom we share your personal data. Through this agreement, we ensure that these parties handle your personal data with due care and attention because we continue to be responsible for the protection of your personal data.

Users have the freedom to share information within WeFitter with other users. This only takes place if users have specified this explicitly and it is their responsibility.

Cookies are used to ensure WeFitter operates as it should.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed by a website on your PC, tablet or mobile phone when you visit the website. Information about your website visit is saved in these cookies. A website can, for example, recognise you when you again visit by using cookies. This is useful if you do not want to log in again and again.

Functional cookies

Functional cookies are always placed and are needed to have the website operate correctly. These cookies have little impact on your privacy and are deployed anonymously. They ensure we can perform our online services. They, for example, ensure that you can stay logged in on the website when you want to.

Non-functional cookies

In addition to functional cookies, we also place analytical cookies. They are non-functional cookies because they are not needed to ensure the website operates correctly.

Only when you accept the cookies being placed, will we place a number of other non-functional cookies. They all have different objectives and ensure that we can improve our services. We use cookies to test improvements on our website, to display social media buttons or to display relevant ads for our services on other websites.

Analytical cookies

Through analytical cookies, we can measure the website visit: for example, how often our website is visited and which information do visitors want to find. This ensures we know which parts of the website are popular and how we can improve our website. The statistics that we collect cannot be traced back to people. This data is anonymised after collection. We can better understand the data by using Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, YouTube and other parties. Analytical cookies are always placed when you visit our website.

We collect, for example, the following data through analytical cookies:

  • The number of visitors who visit our web pages.
  • How long a visitor says on our website.
  • What visitors are searching for (search instructions).
  • Data linked to your browser and device that you use to visit our website such as the operating system and screen size.
  • The speed of our website to measure your browser. We can discover and solve possible issues with the performance of our website on time with this information.

Accessing, rectifying and erasing personal data

In principale, exercising your rights starts with the right to access. You can request this by sending us an email that includes a copy of your ID. We do not want to process Dutch citizen service numbers so please make this number illegible on the copy of your ID. You can address a request for this to api-support@wefitter.com .

In addition, you have a number of other rights that you can invoke such as erasing personal data (deleting it), limiting the processing and objecting to the processing. In addition, you have the right to withdraw any consent that you may have granted in relation to the processing of special categories of personal data. These rights are described in articles 15 to 22 of the General Data Protection Regulation. The result of, for example, erasing personal data may, of course, be that your history is erased. You also have the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling, which produces legal effects concerning you or similarly significantly affects you.

To conclude, you have the right to submit a complaint to a supervisory authority if you are of the opinion that we do not implement the relevant legislation correctly within the framework of our processing of personal data. In the Netherlands, this is the Data Protection Authority, PO Box 93374, 2509 AJ The Hague, the Netherlands. We would appreciate it if you first submit such a complaint to WeFitter so that we are given the opportunity to address the cause of your complaint and can remove it if possible. You can send all your requests to: api-support@wefitter.com .
